Fatherhood Educational Institute (FEI) Supports Maryville Free Parent Resource Fair

By FEI — February 15, 2012

Chicago, March 23, 2011 – The Fatherhood Educational Institute (https://fatherhood-edu.org) will sponsor a resource station at the 5th Annual Maryville “Parent Resource Fair” on Saturday, April 9 from 11:00am to 3:00 pm at Merrimac Park in Chicago for parents, families and caregivers.

This free event has grown to over 20 presenters and the entire community is invited to attend. The mission of the event is to promote awareness of the many different programs that are available for children and families. This Parent Resource Fair is a way of encouraging members of the community to make well-informed and healthy parenting choices. A wide range of local agencies will be present to discuss their parenting tools and health related resources.

“Becoming a parent can be a challenging as well as rewarding experience and this event is a valuable opportunity for parents to get their questions answered, to discover helpful resources and share valuable bonding time with their families,” said Jeffery Leving, President Emeritus of FEI.

The Parent Resource Fair coincides with the National Child Abuse Prevention Month, designated by The Office on Child Abuse and Neglect (OCAN) of the U.S. Children’s Bureau. It is FEI’s goal to provide parents with support and information about the variety of community resources available to help them be the best parents they can be and safeguard the welfare and future of their children. There will be free games and prizes for children and their families. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.

When: Saturday, April 9, 2011 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Where: Merrimac Park – 6343 West Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL 60634
