President of A Safe Haven Foundation Neli Vazquez-Rowland and Leading Fathers’ Rights Attorney Jeffery M. Leving on CAN-TV

Chicago, IL — August 17, 2011 – Leading fathers’ rights attorney Jeffery M. Leving will feature President and Co-Founder of A Safe Haven Foundation Neli Vazquez-Rowland on “Chicago Counterpoint” on CAN-TV (Ch.21) on August 18th at 7:30 PM.

Mrs. Vazquez-Rowland co-founded A Safe Haven Foundation in 1994. Through its holistic approach, the foundation provides evidence-based programs of supportive housing, addiction treatment, recovery management, education, and life skills that lead directly to employment and permanent housing. It is a leading social enterprise that empowers families and individuals experiencing homelessness and crisis to achieve sustainable self-sufficiency.

Mrs. Vazquez-Rowland was honored by Chicago Magazine as the “Chicagoan of the Year.” She is also the recipient of the National Environmental Hall of Fame’s “Social Sustainability Award.” She has made frequent appearances as a keynote speaker at major events and as a panelist at HBO’s documentary presentation of “Addiction.” She has worked with government legislators to benefit the foundation such as Illinois Rep. La Shawn K. Ford, Congressman Danny Davis and others.

“No one has done more for fathers’ rights than Jeffery M. Leving,” said Neli Vazquez-Rowland during her presentation of Mr. Leving’s keynote speech at the Fatherhood Involvement Forum at A Safe Haven Foundation last Wednesday.

Named one of “America’s Best Lawyers” by Forbes Radio, Jeffery Leving is the founder of Leving’s Divorce Magazine (http://levingsdivorcemagazine.com). Mr. Leving’s accomplishments include co-authorship of the new Illinois Virtual Visitation, Right to DNA Testing Notice, and Unlawful Visitation and Parenting Time Interference Laws, as well as the Illinois Joint Custody Law. He has also made frequent appearances as a legal analyst on CNN, NBC, FOX News, and ABC News.
